As per the rankings given by Department of Industrial Policy and Promotion, which falls under the Commerce Ministry in 2018 to the states and UTs on the basis of environment, they have created for startups, Gujarat is at first place in the country for performing the best in promoting entrepreneurship among the young talents and giving them the perfect platform to upheld their skills at a large scope.

A value SAAS business started by Amit Panchal and Ruchit Patel who is presently the CEO and CTO of AllEvents respectively aims to help any layman discover the events taking place around them.

It is an organization that assists you in finding the correct details about the events happening in the cities. Initiated from Ahmedabad, the company is currently having more than 120 Million events on this platform happening in 30,000 cities/towns across the world. It is helping 4 Million users to discover events every month with its Web and Mobile Apps with 9 million event organizers using it to promote their events in city, country or across the globe.

The company is headquartered in Ahmedabad with offices in Delhi, Mumbai, and Bengaluru having a total of 1300 employees. In July 2015, Infibeam became India’s first E-commerce company to file an IPO.

The website sells books, electronics and lifestyle products. The website has a selection of 12 million products across books, electronics, lifestyle, gifts, and media. In September 2010, Infibeam was among Economic Times‘s Top 5 Digital Brands in the e-commerce category.

There are many who are unaware that one of India’s most leading cosmetic company is based at Ahmedabad.

Vini Cosmetics Pvt Ltd was founded as a Non-govt company on 21 December 2009 by Darshan Patel. The directors are Sandeep SinghalDarshankumar Naranbhai Patel, and others.

The company is engaged in manufacturing personal care products. It produces ladies and gents deodorant, talc powder, perfume and face powder under the brands Fogg, 18+ deodorants, and white tone talc. Vini has built a distribution network spanning 0.75mn points of sale, 5000 wholesalers with a 500 strong sales force.

wWhere is a web-based app which unlike maps, connects two people on a common map with the help of geolocation algorithms, instead of connecting a person to a building/landmark, thus easing the efforts of people and brands to locate each other and eventually saving time and resources. It solves the location-related problems faced on an everyday basis by common people. It also inculcated storing locations for quick access when the time arrives to go to a meeting.

Ritam Bhatnagar, founder of India Film Project founded wWhere, an IIMA incubate company in September 2014. wWhere got enormous funding of US$100,000 from angel investors in the US, India, and Singapore in March 2015 and is a team of 14 working people from IIM Ahmedabad Campus.

  1. Menstrupedia


Menstrupedia is a comic guide elaborating about menstruation and all issues related to it in a very amicable way. It aims to bring an end to the taboos associated with female periods and myths. The comics are available in fourteen languages and have been utilized in more than 18 countries.

Founder Aditi Gupta while studying for New Media Design post-graduate at NID, Ahmedabad experienced a severe lack of awareness regarding menstruation even amongst the highly educated personalities. This thing motivated her to pursue research on this subject for a year gathering information from various doctors and girls and starting the comic with three young girls and a doctor cast as the leading roles.

The comic books were put up on a website which has now developed into a platform for providing information on puberty and sexuality for pre-teens and teenagers. Menstrupedia receives an amount of 1 lakh visitors every month.
