While the Dark Lives Issue movement has been in existence for many decades now, it’s witnessed a massive resurgence in recent weeks after the passing of George Floyd. Two weeks before, Floyd expired after a white police officer pushed on his knee to Floyd’s neck and then pinned him to the floor for almost nine minutes. This has sparked a lot of protests across the USA and even around the globe as individuals seek an end to police brutality and systemic racism. The Black Lives Issue movement has gained support from brands, celebrities, and corporations since people emerging demand answers from people figures.
Boyega specifically has been one of the actors speaking out in support of the BLM motion, his voice becoming among the loudest.
It resembles Boyega was joined by yet another Star Wars-associated figure in advocating for Dark Lives Issue, although the latest addition is not just real. According to Boyega on social networking, someone scribbled the announcement “Issue black resides do” and a Yoda statue. Just where said celebrity isn’t apparent, but Community celebrity Yvette Nicole Brown shared her excitement for the message by stating, “Actually #Yoda makes it!”
Only this weekend, Hamill declared of a movie revealing a protester playing with the Imperial March while police officers walked. These links are hardly surprising considering how individuals have been drawing comparisons between real-world associations and Star Wars for decades. If anything, they are probably inspiring others to get concerned.
Pop culture has wormed its way to the Black Lives Issue protests in some ways past Star Wars. Eagle-eyed fans have seen superheroes such as Batman and Miles Morales in the demonstrations. Some online have pictured the epic struggle in Avengers: Endgame because of the continuing battle for justice. These things are much larger than what occurs in almost any fictional narrative. Still, occasionally it is reasonable to connect the stories which resonate with so many men and women. After all, accounts have a method of bringing folks together.
