Realme Mobiles, on Wednesday, announced it was increasing the prices of its smartphones in India. The conclusion comes as GST prices on smartphones increase from 12% to 18% starting now.
The business stated that the COVID-19 pandemic combined with the fluctuating value of the Indian Rupee had impacted the total cost of their smartphones, which in turn has driven several smartphone manufacturers to raise prices of their smartphones.
“Today, we are announcing that realme smartphones might have to boost the prices up for the first time because of 2018…We sincerely hope you will continue to support not just us but also the entire smartphone business for more awesome technologies and surprises later on,” Realme said, adding that the adjusted prices of Realme smartphones have been recorded on the company’s official website.
For most parts, the increase in the purchase price of Realme smartphones appears to be between Rs 500 to Rs 1,000. As an example, the 4GB RAM and 64GB memory variant of the Realme 6, which has been found in India for Rs 12,999, are now available for Rs 13,999. It is worth noting that apart from Realme, Xiaomi and Oppo also have announced an increase in their prices owing to the execution of the new GST prices. “After much deliberation & in keeping Xiaomi coverage of keeping <5 percent margin on the hardware products, we'll be raising prices of our goods," Xiaomi VP and India MD Manu Kumar Jain said in a statement.
